The player controls the lone survivor of the crashed spacecraft known as Aurora, Ryley Robinson, as he is stranded on a remote ocean planet known as 4546B in the Galaxy of Andromeda. Subnautica is a survival action-adventure game set in an open world environment and played from a first-person perspective. A sequel, Subnautica: Below Zero, was released May 14, 2021. By January 2020, more than five million copies had been sold. The Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S versions were released in May 2021. The physical console versions were published by Gearbox Publishing. It was released out of early access in January 2018 for macOS and Windows, with versions for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in December 2018. Subnautica was released in early access for Windows in December 2014, macOS in June 2015, and for Xbox One in May 2016. It includes some elements of survival games and some elements of non-survival games. The main objectives are to find essential resources, survive the local flora and fauna, and find a way to escape. They are free to explore the oceanic planet. Players control a non-essential systems maintenance chief - often referred to as the janitor inside the Subnautica community - who is the only survivor of a spaceship crash on an alien planet. Enter the Phi Robotics Center and head directly right at the entrance to find the Snowfox Hoverpad fragment.Subnautica is an action-adventure game developed and published by Unknown Worlds Entertainment. The Phi Robotics Center is located straight ahead, up a few sets of stairs.
Keep following this tunnel into the open clearing at the end. Head left at the next canyon junction to find a corridor with Fevered Pepper Trees. Once players have reached land, they must head toward the left side of the canyon, using geysers to keep warm in the chilling weather of Planet 4546B. Follow the southwestern/western trajectory, passing a large underwater cable, to find a landbridge in the canyon directly ahead. These jellyfish signify the beginning of the Arctic Region in Subnautica: Below Zero. Players must head straight in this direction until jellyfish appear nearby a glacial wall. The Glacial Basin is situated toward the southwest/west direction of the map, right in between the SW and W on the compass. First, players must locate the Glacial Basin to start searching for fragments.
